your wolf is looking really nice and healthy. mine is now an even fatter azz. he really just chills all day now. looks like a small, colorful common wolffish. minus the attitude and aggression that is.

thanks! He (or she: don't know how to id without comparison, however a small part of me is very interested in trying to breed them one day ;)) is doing very well! Rather active too, cruising trough the tank a lot. Especially when he hasn't been fed he gets kind of grumpy and I won't put my fingers in the tank! They just keep on eating anyway, and since obesitas is not good for any kind of animal, a day of fasting every now and then is not a bad idea.

Don't expect too much aggression-wise from Erythrinus/Hoplerythrinus, they're far more placid than the Hoplias sp. That being said, they will not back down if challenged by another fish, especially if challenged on their own turf.

Could well be, but since he's already seriously snapping at my fingers when I come to close, I'll keep some distance anyway :nilly:

Snapping at your fingers? Hmm...how big is your ery ery now? Mine is about 7" and he still runs from me.
