Also, that offspring was far and away the nicest/coolest looking fish from the batch. The rest looked like Texas.

Looking at those two fish, the offspring I posted before really doesn't compare in terms of coloration to either of the parents, IMO.
I agree , that mom is a really nice fish , shorty body huh ?
Dad is a classic. Too bad offspring didnt compare to either..
I have free swimmers right now of a Escondido male and a Red Dragon female , im just curious what to expect. Hopefully i get a fader or something nice , hopefully i get at least 5 bad ass fishes if not the best looking one will be kept and linebred.
Fry tend to take a lot of the mother's coloration so you might get lucky with some. Keep us posted.

Well I took an super red Dragon(male) to a SRT(female) and got some awesome frys out of the batch I kept I got two faders and some really red and crazy pearling male and female who just bred together hoping for the best!! Post pics for you soon!!
The chances of you getting a fader out of a RD-X-Tex is slim to about 0% possible. A fader comes from parrots and Midas or other fish carrying the fade gene. You may get a nice one out of it, but by far nothing better then the original FH involved in the breeding.

I also have a beautiful Parrot that looks like a KKP , i was looking for something to match up with her , some said the escondido x her will help me on my quest for SRT , But said that it will still require lots of work.
