Ethical Piranha posting - wheres the line?

I agree for the most part. However I think one thing has been overlooked - Yes feeding Mammilia is unethical for the Piranha as they can not breakdown the fats, it will build up and in access, kill the Piranha. The insulting of those who do, is unethical posting. Education is what is needed. You all helped improve my fishkeeping skills thru education. Cyprinide are no longer part of any of my over 100 fishes diets. Imitation crab meat is no longer a staple, and list goes on...but I might have never learned these things if I was made made out to be an idiot. And ya............I was/am shocked at the amount of ppl whose largest tank is 55-75 gal on MFK. However I remember my 1st 55, it was a big tank to me at the time and led to tanks larger than 4x it's size.

To the general public 55-75 is a big tank.

I do not feed my fish live food, however if I chose to do it I would find out what's in the rivers that they swim and feed them something comparable to that. feeding them fish that they would eat anyway could not be unethical IMO. however, feeding them something they would never get a hold of to me is unethical.

feed them oscars and severums then lol im sure you'd geta ton of love over at the cichlid forum


actualy i did consider breeding severums as food for my piranhas but settled with convicts as severums are harder to breed and would require something larger than my 29 gallon tank


EDIT: DUH!! i forgot angelfish they're from the amazon i could've bred those for a natural diet for my piranhas lol
