Ever buy a fish you were disappointed with?

Good topic :)

I'm often disappointed by how skittish my blood parrots are. When they dash and hide, it subsequently spooks my GT.

Toying with idea of trading them in, may give it time though

I love all the fish I have had, but I hate the ones I have to get rid of because of aggression.

I had to sell:

Oscar
H. Cyano
H. Deppi
JD

I can't keep salvinis alive. It is disappointing when I can't keep them a live.

Bought a 14" fire eel. Was terrified of every other fish in my tank no matter the size. Never saw it for weeks at a time. Someone told me they wanted to buy it I had to go home and make sure it was still in there somewhere....

You can say I was disappointed with quite a few fish I purchased :D

It took me few stocking lists before I settled for one :D :D

Rainbow wolfish....started off great for the first couple years. Now he's in a depression mode or something. Doesn't respond to anything and I hear him smashing his head off the glass lid all the time. today I noticed he banged up his head real bad...guess he hates himself also and is trying to commit suicide.

exodons. bought a about a school and they were cool for a week but became very skittish.

I guess for me it would have to be my rainbow cichlids. I bought these guys when I made a large purchase of baby paratheraps. I've never seen these fish before and was basically a curiosity buy. Over a year later, with my paratheraps getting much, much larger and much, much more colorful, the rainbows are a lot more boring by comparison. I want to take these guys out of the 180 but just don't want to deal with the PITA netting process and the freaking out of all the other fish.

Now that I think about it I am disappointed in my p. syn's colors. I bought this fish because it was so colorful even though it was stressed and being picked in by some snooks at the LFS. The colors have faded a lot since the fish got over 10".

I guess I have never had the experience. If a fish did`nt live up to expectations it was usually my fault. Either I put a non-aggressive fish in with too tough a group or the colors were`nt what I had hoped for or a fish was too shy I took the response-ability for it. In some cases I changed things around, in others I traded off a fish or species for a better fit.
