Many of you are describing the fish`s natural behavior. If your fish are skittish they are lacking security. Catfish are for the most part nocturnal, therefore lay about or hide all day. How can you expect them to behave differently? Fish croaking after a couple of months is another thing altogether. Sometimes we loss fish and try as we might we can`t figure out why. The fact is though there is a reason, we just missed it.
I am not trolling here. That`s just how I see it.
Youtube videos are good at (unintentionally) deceiving people to think a fishes natural behavior is different than it actually is. For instance I watched hours and hours of fahaka videos. Now I go back and notice all those active fahakas are being fed. I also see plenty of gold nugget plecos on youtube it wasn't until I asked a question on MFK that made me realize that they might be one of those fish that hides all the time. Turns out some fish just have boring natural behaviors. Well boring in my opinion.
