Ever feel like quitting?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ever sinced I've started, I've just excelled at everything with this hobby. Even if I were to be in debt, I would rather sell my Tv's and assests instead of my tanks.

I do too much crap.

Not me, I do not enough stuff, I'd prolly do maui-thai if I could persuade my parents. I'm thinking about getting a scorpion too, But the cheapest I've seen one is 44 Bucks, I'm better off catching one.

If you are feeling a bit burnt out, drop things back to your favourite fish in understocked tanks. Sell off a few of the extras. That way you only have to spend 1/2 the time on your tanks and have 1/10 of the problems.

When you push things with fully stocked tanks you HAVE to do your maintainance and even then things can go wrong. If you keep your big tanks and only 1/2 the fish things are a lot more cruisy;)

Cheers

To be honest with you...No I have personally never felt like quitting.

IMO if you feel like this then now is the time to sell everything and find a new activity.

People start all KINDS of things and then loose intrest....it's no big deal EXCEPT when your talking about lives that are depending on you.

I get sick of my tanks every weekend during w/c and such.
It's 80 degrees in my fishroom ! I cook after a few minutes.

I agree it is a pain if you have multiple tanks to tend too.

But when I bring in the kids or friends It becomes clear why I enjoy them.
Yes ,they don't understand the work but I enjoy their faces as they watch the fish do their thing.

Down size for awhile is best advice for those sick of caring for their tanks.
Don't have to sell your tanks just sell off some stock and take a brake.

You know in the future you'll be at the LFS and see some fish that makes you want to start again......

:grinno:

I have never considered quiting all together tho somtimes it can be frusterating and i have felt like down sizing but never have done that i get another tank or 2 every year it seems.I went about 2 years without fish in my early 20's when i moved out of my parents home and i had weird dreams at least weekly about fish and aquariums mostly negative in nature:nilly:.As soon as i went out and bought my first 125 gal the strange dreams stopped and all is well :grinno:so i got to have 1 tank for sure but now it's getting to be a big deal with the maintence and all just look at my signature haha.

hmm... now I dont feel like quitting anymore.. lol.. i guess its that feeling that comes just once in a while...
