Before you say it, I have many friends who are all like a second family to me and even more who are just friends, but, I would not change anything to simply please them. Me and my friends have a good friday BBQ every year as it is one of the only times that all of us have the day off work (or Uni for some)(we also have a boxing day bbq, newyear day bbq and a melbourne cup bbq). In this group only 1 person is religious and he did tell us that it is insulting to him, but its our tradition and is growing every year. We have been doing it for almost a decade now and I've only know this guy for 2yrs or so, why should I/we change for him, we shouldn't.
On the back of cars I see sticks "jesus wept for you" and "god loves you" these insult me but what do you think the people would do if I asked them to remove them.
