Shame your not in Sydney bro, There is a guy at the fish shop called Aquamart in castle hill he has a 8x2.5x3 tank and I think stand. He only wants a couple of hundred for it might be worth your while to give him a call

I say go for the knife fishes, but yeah 1-2 years is a bit long.
