I just used my hand to guide him towards the glass and and after measuring I gave him a treat, eventually he would just come to the glass on his own because he knew he would get a treat. Puffers are smarter than sevs so it might be easier to train but I don't know if a large puffer would attack your hand or not

I do have some of my older guys that recognize the measuring tape and they will approach the glass and turn on their sides and not move.

another interesting this is that people seem to underestimate the size of fish under 12 inches and overestimate them around 2 ft. almost every 30 inch plus rtc always ends up being closer to 24-26 inches.

I was sure my old Midas was not growing and was like 9". When it got a new, bigger home I caught him and he was 11". So Ive joked around that Im the guy to buy a fish from because if I say 4" its probably like 7".

the green terror I bought at petco that was in a smalll tank at petco looked 1.5 inches and it looks 1 inch in my 120 gallon...

Yes. I notice anytime I have to move them to another tank (long periods of time in between). They're SO much bigger than they look in the tank. Even my tiniest fish isn't so tiny when you scoop him out the water.
