niiice sturgeon...
NIce chick in your arms!!! i think i'd rather have the warm blooded chick!

shouldn't these fish be kept at a lot colder water temp? if they tolerate higher temps, doesn't that still mean they prefer colder. isn't that what cold water species means???

if you really must keep one of these beauties in your tank you should keep it in the optimum temp for it...not you!!!

catching a monster sturgeon and then not letting it go is a terrible waste. they should be released and re-enjoyed.

Cool fish, we have sturgeon in my lake.
cool, you got the biggest aquarium of all!!!

to a certain extent ur point is valid, but once you consider that 99% percent of sturgeon in the trade are actually hybrids of mainly sterlet lineage and as such prove to be for the most part very hardy fish. then it is less of an issue if we were talking true sturgeon for the most part the fish would be dead, same for pure sterlets...

yup sounds about right, i forgot it could have been a hybrid tank spawn or raised. it seemed they were talking about catching and keeping lake fish.

do you know about the legallities of these species or variants of these sturgeons?

love these fish :) tried to keep one like 10yrs ago in like a 15-18gal ish tank in Hong Kong.... they were cheap xD like less than 10bux US .... didnt work out xD

and now that im in US... i go out fishin for these in the sf bay delta .... only caught and release two that was like 20in so far... cute lil buggers :)

are any sturgeon considered game fish by DFG?
