I come to learn that he was housed in a 60 gallon for the first 2 yrs of his life and the guy said "his growth rate was really slow" Then the guy built a 500 gallon tank for his fish a year ago and said "it's funny cause his growth rate seems to have picked up again" I was likenecrocanis;1725797; said:Great pick up. TSN are awesome. Have all three of mine eating out of my hand. That is rather small for a 3 year old. Then again I did rescue a 3 year old channel that was only 8" one time. The owners were like wow he's grown as he hid and they never saw him. They fed him flakes.

I told him yeah right it will only take me like 2 years to grow one out that big, and that he must be mistaken on the size if it's in a 55 gal. No suprise like 6 months later I talked to him again and he said it died.
I worked at a lfs while I was in high school and college and I was shocked to hear what conditions fish came from when we were taking them in.
