Looks great! How do the yellow labs do with the eye biter? And how big is he?
Thanks! Hes about 5 inches. Just added him about 3 weeks ago. There are actually 35+ Labs in there from fry to adult as well as 4 large clown loaches and 6 Synodontis Multipunctatus. I just re-scaped my tank after about ten years and want to change the stock. Maybe keep about 6-8 of the Labs. Still torn between what I want to add. The Eye Biter does a lot of chasing but no damage to anyone yet. Probably because of the size of the tank, the amount of rock and the amount of Labs. The full grown male Labs in there are the same size or just a little bigger than he is and stand up to him. There is a bunch of posturing but no real fighting so far. Hopefully it stays that way. Also hoping, he eats some of the fry but I haven't seen him catch any yet. Again, I think too many hiding spots in the rocks.

Surprised the syno cats don't put a bigger dent in the fry. I think the eye biter will need to double in size before he comes into his full aggression. Mbuna are pretty tough though.

I'm guessing the Multis have eaten their fair share over the years. Started off with 5 Labs about 8 years ago so without them in there who knows how many I would have. I'm also guessing the Multis are either all male or female because I have never seen them interupt the Labs during spawning and obviously no baby cats. That would have been cool to see. As for the Eye Biter, yeah time will tell. Hoping he's fairly mellow. These Labs are pretty wimpy, i have only had to remove one older male that was getting beat up in the 8 years I've had them.

how are your leaf fish going? had to separate mine ??
Well I had one randomly die to which I still haven’t figured out why which brings me down to 4, there is a clear size difference I’ve noticed which leads me to an idea of a hierarchy happening but the next time I make a purchase online I’m going to attempt to get more leaf fish. I’ve found Worldwidefishandpets have both african knives and leaf fish, if I get lucky I can get the 3 knives and however many more leaf fish I decide to get at the same time. Honestly I’m thinking about just getting 10 and if I end up with more alive than I want then I can always pass them off to someone else. The wet spot currently has leaf fish for $8 and with their new shipping rates of $40 flat rate is tempting especially given I was paying $72/$75 for shipping before which was absolutely ridiculous I think. Either way I’m going to be getting another batch of leaf fish at some point, it might be a year from now though given I have more important things going on in the fish room.
