OUT OF THE HOBBY.



I did a water change today, and something went horribly wrong. I just had to toss out 6 of my prized delhezi.

I get the feeling the city has added something to the water, but I wont know till tomorrow when they call me back. Maybe there was a ph or temp swing that I didn't realize happened.

Either way, I don't want to see this happen every week, and slowly lose my entire collection, so I'm selling everything that survived.

I don't have the space to filter 90 gallons of water through a carbon filter every week before adding to my tank so I'm out of the hobby to return some time in the future.

Fish:

2 large zebra angels - $15 each

1 large black angel - $15

7 small zebra angels - $3 each

1 small (nickel) phillipine blue angel - $10

1 dollar size phillippine blue zebra (damaged but healing dorsal fin)- $10

11" delhezis x4 - $60 each

4" delhezis (if any survive) - $30 each

1 x P.mokelembembe 6" - $150

1x P. mokelembembe 4" - $90

1 x P. senegalus platinum 5-6" - $150

TANK:

120g glass fujimoto aquarium 4'x2'x2', with glass lids, custom wood stand - $150

Used condition, not a 'show' tank, but solid built, great aquarium.

Can't sell the tank till all the fish are gone.

I know the frustration but you're not going to get near the money you spent on the fish. Don't quit, Serg. Are you sure it was the water and not your 70% weekly waterchange? Sometimes they could be working on the water pipes near your area and old rusted pipe might have leached something in the water. If the water is fatal to consume the water company is suppose to issue a warning to the resident.
 
I call dips on the tank ok? Please let me know when it is ready to be sold. I would like to see pictures of it first if you can post that. Thank you.

I've been doing 70% weekly changes for two years now, and the only 'consequence' has been fish that grow fast and are in top health, and a beautiful tank to photograph.

Remember that congicus that doubled in length, and tripled in girth in 4 months? I know what I'm doing, I've been at this a while, and I know when something is out of my control.

Sounds harsh, and it is, but I'm giving up my biggest passion in life.
