Evidence of NLS superiority?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
btw i feed primarily nls and omega. and other things like bloodworms, mysis shrimp etc as treats, most of the top tier foods are great and produce good results. you can feed exclusively one "good" pellet food and get good results. Although i do still believe in variation in food types, for happy healthy and entertained pets.

However, a variety is not good for all pets. But for fish, I whole heartily agree.

Feeding too many different foods to dogs for example can cause digestive issues.

ummm...ok, thank you for listing me?? i feel fully validated now as a member of the mfk community that i have finally gained some sort of recognition by you.

snarkiness aside...
its a topic that is widely covered on several threads here on mfk. if you closely read the original posters inflammatory comments you would come to understand this thread was started with ill will. i was stating my opinion that such a thread should be closed. i am sorry if my opinion is not worth 2 cents to you but it is mine and is one moderators do not have any obligation to abide by. i would like to inform you, in the grandest manner, that you have not made my list and from the posts of your i have come across while reading you seem to be a great contributing member on MFK.

keep compiling your list my friend, cheers and all that good stuff
now i will return to pressing matters like playing solitaire and watching my fish poop

Regardless of OP's "intentions", I have not seen anything inflammatory from other members in this thread. I'm sure the second it happens, the mods will step in and do their thing. There is some useful information in this thread, at least to people who don't frequent this site and follow every thread.

Some of my comments to you were over the line and for that I apologize. My point is that if you have information to share, do that. Otherwise, jumping in a thread and commenting repeatly that it's useless is not the most constructive thing to do. If other people want to continue a thread, it's up to them.

so true. my bull terrier luvs me and hates me for it

I once ran a pitbull rescue.. I had 10 pits at one time with several of them needing special diets.. sometimes they got mixed up..
Thank god Tractor supply sells gallons of animal grade Kaopectalin. :D

I switch up my 3 pits food every 3 months, and that seems to be good. I do only use 2 foods though. I go back and forth with them.

ha...i thought i was crazy, i do the same. i use chewable pepto. my gf made me get a white english bull terrier. needless to say he came with allergies. had to experiment with is diet for a while before deciding on wellness core and the occasional bowl of plain rice and chicken. i love bully breeds.

no harm no foul, i get your point and do agree with you. i just had it up to here (making a gesture with hands at my neck) with trolls. why is it fun for them to do something so pointless? i'll just ignore the threads like you originally suggested

Chicken is actually something that a lot of the bully breeds with allergies are allergic too believe it or not. I dealt with allergies in a pit for 3 years, and we ended up giving him to a shelter to try and treat him because our vet and I decided to put him down.. so he got a well, third chance at life.

But wellness core, orijen, and before grain are all amazing foods.

I use Performatrin.. it's all holistic, and my pet store often has them $58 bag marked to $28 because they reach their 5 mth in store shelf life.

Regarding closing this thread, there are no rules that say a topic cannot be covered multiple times (1.2 million pool filter sand threads <-- case in point) so the staff only steps in when members can't keep things civil or the OP requests it be closed etc. Just so you guys know :)

I don't have the energy to type out a long response with my iPhone. Basically, I would encourage everybody to read the ingredients of their fish food and do some research behind them. Research the amount of fat, quality of the protein sources, and what studies have found to be healthiest for fish long term, not just what fish like to eat or what gets good color and growth. It's everyone's personal decision to choose what to feed.
Someone mentioned dog food and has obviously done a lot of research behind the nutrition needs of dogs, but I honestly don't see a lot of that same scrutiny applied to fish food. Would you judge a dog food based on how much the dog seems to enjoy eating it? Because I guarantee your dog would love to eat cheeseburgers all day long, but that doesn't mean it's good for them.
