Evidence of NLS superiority?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Geeze Balton, why is it that with you and many others always think that someones EXPERIENCE is always WRONG?

Sorry, just had to get that off of my chest.

I doubt a lot of what I read on these forums, sometimes you just have to call BS when you see it, and let it go.

BTW mshill ..

There are no NLS formulas that are like clay, not even remotely close. NLS pellets have a low inclusion rate of moisture to the point that many fish will initially reject them due to how hard they are. If your food was as soft as clay, there can only be two reasons.

1. it wasn't actually NLS food in your container
2. at some point moisture got into that food

All NLS formulas are quite hard, much harder than any other pellet on the market.

I bought it from The Pet Place.. Packaged and sealed. It was like that when I opened it.

What can I say, in the 7 years that I have been associated with New Life, and the tons upon tons of food that I have imported, I have never once seen or even heard of anyone's pellets being as soft as clay. Never. If they were indeed that moist, then one could expect mold in the container, which is exactly why every single batch of food made is checked & rechecked for moisture content using very sophisticated testing equipment. Make of that what you will.

Then again I have also never heard of anyone (besides yourself) that feeds three 3mm pellets a day to a single 4" fish, and manages to plug up an AC 110 in 8 weeks. :)

Hey, wait a minute. Did I miss something? There was a Managuense in there too? How many pellets did you feed it? Or did you feed a total of three pellets to both fish each day? You think NLS 3mm pellets are soft and squishy like clay? I don't think so...someone must have gotten their hands on them before you.

No just a FH in this tank. I went down to 3 pellets a day.

They were not squishy.. but it was like a harder/drier clay. But I found my hikari pellets to be harder is all.

The package was sealed completely.. I can't compare it to any other NLS because it's the only of that kind I bought.
