thats a question only the fish themselves can answer , i have put marulia in with them before and was ok , i did the same thing some years latter and the maurlia nearlly killed the reds , i have also had luck with bigger pleuros and reds and marulioides with reds , but i have also had to remove a lot of fish because of fighting

mixing large snakeheads is allways a risky buisness , luckly at the size yours are there is a chance of it working (for a while at least) but as they grow larger who knows . there is no definate answer to this one , also some reds are quite peacefull and some start to go nuts as they mature so depends on the fish . if your going to do it i would ask the lfs ,if they start fighting can you return it . remember the final size of your reds also, this makes your choice very small as they will out grow most snakeheads . your best chance would be in order ,in my opinion anyway

1 slighly larger micros
2 2-3 inches larger marulioides
3 3-4 inch larger pleuros
4 approx same size or very slightly smaller marulia

i think any of the above will be fine for a time , its just what happens as they get bigger

to honest i think if you manage to get pleuros or marulioides as they grow you will be likley to prefer them over your reds anyway and the reds could be moved on if aggresion starts

thx mate...i gave it a thought and decided to keep these two alone in the tank...i hope they are male and female and i'll try and breed them...
can u sex them when they are this small? by the looks or behaviour?

i would make the tank one metre wide rather than high as the length and width are more important than height although this would have to be at least 60cm/24" high anyhow,by the way 84"x39"x24"high would be around 283 imp gallons,if you are going to the expence of a new tank you may as well make it 75cm/30" high to give you more volume
