I had to upgrade tanks too... not all of us have the space or the cash for a 240+ gallon tank...

true that, i dont have the space for anything other than a 150 gallon, but i just figured most people have gotten little tanks and then upgraded.

i constantly get new fish and new tanks
and upgrade tanks
i am greedy

tanks are like closets. If you have an empty one, it will eventually be filled with stuff no matter what. Tanks before fish always for me.

I have always wanted an Oscar and, after going through the "regular community" fish in my 130 litre I decided screw it, go for the Oscar and deal with the larger tank later... wrong I know but he still has plenty of room, and tommorrow he is moving into a 350 litre, so yes it is an upgrade from a current tank but I was fully aware that it would be happening in the near future.

So, true
hey they make great grow out tanks:headbang2

My problem was that I wanted fish before I knew anything about them. My first tank was a standard 4'. I think that's about 50 G(?).

My LFS were very good about helping me get started, buy the right fish and then helped me plan what to do next. They talked me out of a couple of crazy ideas but guided me toward the light - bigger fish AND bigger tanks.

Thus my first tank wasn't bought with any real consideration for specific fish, but neither were the fish bought for the tank. Now though, my next tank project (and it changes over time) is always a bigger tank - one way or another.
