As mentioned, just looking for some info about these fish. I'm going to sell my pair of RTM's and will have space for something new. Was looking to get some Crenicichla when I came across these in Jeff's inventory. Any one have info on temperament, diet, compatibility etc? Since they're WC, are they going to be sensitive towards water quality and develop HITH? Or bloat? Can a pair go in with my Festae pair in my 265 along with a Tig? They're kind of expensive too.....I might be better off getting the pikes huh? At least I already know I'll love them. Thanks in advance for anyone with knowledge about these fish.

Large, rare species will be expensive. You want to try living in the UK and wanting species like that. $200 quickly becomes £200 when you're part of a group buy! Forget it if you're on your own!

I think you have hit the nail on the head though and regardless of size, temperement etc (Just to say, I would be surprised if a 265 wasn't more than ample even with the Festae, just make sure they eeach have thier own space) you'll need good water quality and be able to afford something to go 'wrong'. We all hate it when it happens- I've lost one $300 fish to predation and i can tell you that wasn't fun but it was my fault and unless it's diseased (which it wont be from Jeff) it's survival is down to you.

Just to add though, before you think I'm a complete ass, Judging by your current stock, you have nothing to worry about and i don't doubt for one second your ability to care for them. I'm just surprised you're not going nuts for the C. Ornatus- I am having a pair of those, even if they cost a fortune to get into the country!

I'll let someone else supply info on the fish!

:D

Balton...I remember reading this thread a while back http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252301&highlight=Atromaculatum . BobP use to own some and he indicated based on his experience, they're shy and not too aggressive. But Yea...I'm interested in knowing more about them especially the people who recently picked up some of the WC's that have been recently brought in.

Thanks for the link, it didn't really give much info though and too bad the pictures disappeared. His batched seemed very shy is all I learned there lol. Lemme know if you find anything else out. What I really want to know is are they extemely sensitive to water quality. I can't deal with fish that HITH out really badly in the tank at the slightest quality change.

I'd love to have the Festae, Ornatus and Atromaculatus in the 265 together, that would be awesome. Problem is...with both of them, the prices are so high and I'm too poor lol.

Yea that thread is a bit bare but I just remember reading it. I too wish the photos were still visible.

This vid doesn't offer any additional info and I'm sure you've seen it. But if not, check it out. Good looking fish. [YT]VtzE0Ug6_yA[/YT]
