I’ve seen people keep single piranha so it got me thinking would one exodon in smaller tank be like one piranha in a larger tank? Would it be skittish and hide or would it be aggressive and eat like a single piranha?

IMO, keeping a lone Exodon is like keeping a solo Congo Tetra. Both species are very awesome fish, but become much more interesting when kept in groups, displaying natural interactive behaviors.

Exodons arent as vicious solo.. theyre amazing when in groups..solo he would just look like any other tetra when feeding. Although he will be very active swimming around.

I don't even think he'll be active, as when you put a clown loach by himself he wouldn't show. but if you have a group they'll feel safe in numbers!

Yeah, a single Exodon would be a lot like a single piranha...and that's not a good thing. A solo specimen of any naturally schooling species of fish is usually a pretty pathetic sight, IMHO. They are deprived of any chance to display anything approaching natural behaviour, and are often inactive, skittish psychos. Single piranha or single neon tetra, all the same; personally I just don't see the appeal.
