Hi I just bought 6 exodons for my 10 gallon. I have a few questions since I have seen threads that say that they like being cramped. How many could keep in my 10 gallon using a AC50 and a tetra pf10. Can thay eat minnows. Can I keep an electric catfish with them. are htere any small predatory catfish that will go with them. Also I paid $7 for these is this a good deal.

$7/ea is a pretty average price.

as far as how many you can keep in the 10g, that is a heavily debated subject, but more importantly then how many, is making sure you can care for them properly in the numbers you have. unless you are willing to do the constant upkeep necessary, which most people are not, i would not suggest doing too many more then you have. however, a shoal of 6 may potentially have aggression problems being such a small group.

the more you have the safer they are from eachother. but yea, the upkeep. water changes. etc. more exos = peace between them, more aggression to prey, and dirty water. less exos = civil war, less aggression to prey (even shyness), and cleaner water.. but its up to you to make sure the water is clean in the end either way..

they will eat scales off the minnow, knock it around a bit, peck out the eyes but not the whole fish. they might make a hole in it at best. and with only 6 exos, their kinetic vigilance towards prey and over all aggression will be at an all time low, they will be hiding from you and biting eachother more. id get more, otherwise they may pester eachother to death and you could end up with only 1 exodon.

from my personal experience, i bought 7 at first and they only killed 2 of the 10 swordtail tetras in my tank. the rest of the swordtails are in there still today and i now have 13 exos that do nothing to them. insects and bugs are more their cup of tea ;). try a live worm or cricket. i FINALLY got mine to shread large crickets.

they can eat minnows.
but give them a varied diet.
also,electric catfish=no good.
itll either kill them soon,or grow up and eat them.

So is my AC50 good enough for 12 exos if i do a weekly water change of 20%. Also what is a good meat to feed them. Could feed them like a piece of steak. I am feeding frozen bloodworms with minnows on the side what else is good to feed them. These fish are awsome I cant believe I didnt find out about these earlier. What extra filtration should i get?

ac 50 is too big for 10g, u need a 20g tank.
