That is true but I think they are worth every penny. Not much more than we probably spend on this hobby in a year, some of us in a weekend!

I don't know about that....I have seen listings for F1 kittens going for more than five thousand dollars.Not many people are spending that much money on aquariums and fish in a weekend.

Yeah f1 and f2s are expensive. You can find f3-f7 for 400-1500. Not bad.

If your not set on a kitten look at retired breeder cats. They're still young, healthy, and a lot cheaper. When we got tallor we paid 250 and she was 2 years old, as a kitten she was about 4,000

That's also worth looking into as I wouldn't be opposed to getting an adult cat.
