Expert assistance requested - can anyone identify this CA/SA cichlid?

Thanks All, for your responses and warm welcome - most helpful & much appreciated!
Is it common for a large cichlid such as mine to not eat anything for an entire month?
He remains very active and engaged - not sluggish at all.
How much longer will/can he keep this "hunger strike" up?

Large fish like that can go for weeks, maybe months. Just keep trying and he will eat eventually!

Hey Y YUL2PDX ,
Welcome to MFK.
I'm suspicious he may have been fed live food before you got him. Sounds like you've tried everything there is to feed him. What was the previous owner feeding him? I would start there. I think he will definitely eat eventually. Just give him more time. Looking at the original pic he looks like a very thick beefcake (Chancho?) so he must have been eating good at some point. Don't give up on him. GL

That's the problem, there is ZERO INTEL re what he was previously fed. The LFS neglected to ask the previous owner and they have no way of contacting him. Ugh, so frustrating. Day #33 now and he is still not eating!

You should get something else that tank is too small for an Oscar.
