hey i guess they are extinct...try some of the vendors, they might be able to get some in for you if you want them... i know tiny28 was bringing some in on a special order not too long ago :)

This is the fish at Aquarium Adventure in Dublin, right? If so, it is a very cool fish and does have quite the teeth. It has a "he will bite" warning written on the tank!

Ya Spencer Jack (the Canadian version of Jeff Rapps) has them also, same price too $125 each.

Yep, Spencer has them. His are between 8 and 13 inches in size. They're natural snail eaters and can be quite nasty with each other. It's best to keep them in larger groups of 6 or more fish. I'm actually supposed to do a photo shoot on these while Spencer still has them. Maybe I'll swing by this weekend.

Chaitika is right on all counts, I have mine separated so the don't kill each other, they used to spawn regularly, now all they do is try to murder their former mates.

I have 3 (12") menerambo, they extract bodies of snails very well with that tooth, although smaller ones like Malay live bearing snails are easily crushed. They can rid an infested tank of snails in a matter of hours. Although they were thought to be extinct in nature, a few months ago a viable population was discovered in a remote area.
