perhaps not, but one thing I can say is that if we don't as a species make some SERIOUS changes to our way of life, a mass human extinction might just be the only way this Earth can survive. We are the worst thing for this planet that ever existed and it's only gonna keep getting worse and worse every year
At most, a few humans will survive and restart the next civilization, and claim they built the pyramids.

What about this species makes it a favorite of yours?

I generally really like marsupial predators and how they replicate what other predators do in other ecosystems. Thylacoleo was a marsupial the size of a lion which is crazy considering the biggest marsupial predator we have today doesn't even reach 20lbs.

A bone from a thylacine was found to be from the1980s, suggesting they either lasted longer than thought, or may still exist, the best area to look for them would probably be

I think tasmanian tigers have a tiny chance of having survived in remote areas of tasmania for a lot longer than we think - Tylacoleo on the other hand is much larger, making it easier to spot. Also, I don't even think they found any fossils of them in Tasmania.

All of these recently extinct animals makes for depressing thoughts. There are so many animals gone for no reason except humans.

Humans will be on the endangered list soon, we r always engineering ways to kill ourselves and not thinking of the consequences of our actions

I've always been captivated by prehistoric scenery w/ a number of animal in the artists' eyes what they would or could have looked like - scenes like this really pull me in and make me feel like i'm there sometimes (esp. pic #2) and give you an idea how things were in prehistoric ecosystems, here we have Australia during the Pleistoscene

Beautiful castle, but what is the bird at the upper left of picture 2? Also I would love a time machine to visit those kinds of places, but I might not want to come back
