Extra Special?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Snook is selling another batch of these, but this time they ARE labeled as marms. You're lucky as hell for scooping them up at the price he had them before if they are marms LOL

Here is a picture of Xingu marmorata that amazon exotic had.

We'll see. They are still young. . . ;) Annoying thing about Lugubris pikes is that as juv. some species tend to look remarkably similar up to a certain age.

On the other hand, JOHANNA and these pikes look NOTHING alike. . .*cough* . . .

Looks identical to ours. Thanks for posting

The Amazon Exotic ones lack a humeral spot and notice the spotting/coloring of the dorsal fin.

:iagree: Still convinced the ones I got, which is the same ones you just got again, aren't marms. They look close, but are missing a few traits. We'll see though. I have been wrong before. :nilly:

Rio Xingu species:

Cr. sp. "Xingu I", Orange Pike
Cr. sp. "Xingu II"
Cr. sp. "Xingu III"
Cr. acutirostris
Cr. marmorata

Am I missing any?

I'm confident that they are not I, II or III. I am 100% that it is not acutirostris.

Marmorata?

New, undescribed species?? The Rio Xingu is one big ass river with thousands of smaller tributaries. It's entirely possible.

Jer, how big are your 3? I wouldn't expect to see much of a change in pattern until they hit the 7"-8" mark.
