Extreme algae problem... Help please, my reef tank looks like crap because of this!

great info. i have been trying to fight same problem for few months now. it only grows on one side of my tank. i will buy the phos ban kit, and a sea hare. any other fish or invert that eats this stuff post it up.

what you have is hair algae similar looking to maiden's hair but not the same. A sea hare like this will devour it like nothing;

Want to come up with something simplier. Someone whos having problems with hair algae probably isnt likely to be of "expert only" status. No offense meant to the poster. And none to mr.reef either, much respect for the knowledge, just a point I figured Id bring up.

No-body here has "expert status"...if someone mentions something on a post that you've ( not you directly, but a browser of the thread ) have not heard of, use google too find out what it is....
