Like I said.....If you fished the lake, you would know what was going on there.

The DNR reports numbers higher than what they are in Vermillion because they get paid off by the Indians so they can continue their pre-season netting that makes them a LOT of money.

Anyway, I have relatives that fish that lake, and I personally used to fish the lake, and the fishing is absolute garbage there compared to what it used to be. You can argue with me until you are blue in the face. But I know from first hand experience that the fish (non muskie) are just not there anymore. And everyone up there knows what's to blame (the irresponsibility of a corrupt DNR).

I'll continue to kill every muskie in that lake that is legal for me to do so.

And again, here in Indiana, I'll continue to catch and release.

Either the gamefish are really good at hiding or the fishermen must be sucky, the numbers don't lie based on gillnets, electro-fishing and trapnets. To my knowledge, DNR do not get paid by "Indians" (Native American would be right). Well you missed out the good years of fishing on Lake Vermilion.

A prefect example of irresponsible high class d-bag fisherman thinks the lake is his and knows everything.

Do you fish Vermillion?

If not, don't try to lecture me about it. I know first hand what has happened up there. We used to catch 15 slot walleye per person per night EASILY. Now, you see fishermen catching MAYBE 2 if it's a good night, and the chance of having it bit in half by a muskie during the fight is pretty darn high compared to what it used to be. And it's not just us. We talk to a lot of fishermen on the lake. So unless Minnesotans just suck at fishing, something is going on.

Again, talk to the locals and you'll find out what has REALLY happened on that lake.

And a corrupt government office.....What a completely bogus notion :screwy:

Once again, fishing isn't a good way to check on fish populations. Lake Vermilion is intensively managed and always do population surveries annually. The walleye/bass/pike numbers were very good.

Will make sure to club one just for you
I'll hand you a metal pipe and watching you beating up yourself would be interesting.

Well I'm sorry that you do not have good fishing experiences on Lake Vermilion but killing muskellunges for "eating all gamefish" is pretty weak and the survery shows that the gamefish population is still intact and the forage number (tulibee, perch, crayfish) is high. The DNR still stocking muskellunges in Lake Vermilion. After all Lake Vermilion is a trophy class lake that attracts thousands of fisherman from all over United States...to fishing for trophy muskellunge. If you don't like muskellunge, just go to another lake that doesn't have them.

You're wrong there. I have GREAT fishing experiences on Vermillion. They were in the early 90's before the Muskie took over.

As you've said, it's a world class MUSKIE fishing lake at this point. It used to be a worldclass walley, smallmouth, and pike fishing lake. Those days are LONG gone.

You can say what you want, but the walleye are less in number and smaller than they were before the introduction of the muskie. Granted, the resorts love the muskie. They make Vermillion a destination for muskie fishing. It sucks for all of the fishermen that used to have cabins on that lake that have had to move on.
