I am sorry to hear about what happened mate, unforeseen accidents suck.
I had a Temensis jump out of a small hole just last night as I turn off my fishroom light. I heard a spash and bump on the floor, turn the light back on and walked back in to investigate. That was when I noticed a small male Tem on the floor behind a stand leg. I was so glad it happened when it did as I was about to close the door and leave.
What I am saying is I have had bad luck like yourself but then again I have had some great luck also.
The good over rides the bad just stick it through and don't bail out mate.
You gotta be at the very bottom before you can know and respect what it means to be at the top. This hobby is full of peaks and valleys and today is def. a valley for you. Ive been there man and I know how crappy you feel. But, the very best thing you can do is learn from the mistake, and go at it again. Thats what makes a pro. You simply cant run a flawlesss setup untill every individual part of the system has tragically failed on you atleast once. Get some more and hammer down again. You wont be sorry you did!
That really sucks, but dont get out of the hobby just because of this. I had my baby box turtle die on me last year due to the person that had it before me not knowing what to feed it, I tried to bring it back to health, but it ended up passing away, but I didn't give up because I have another one and she is healthy as a turtle can be.
