i think this guy just doesnt like the fact that someone has a fish he doesnt,he keeps bringing up stuff and posting laws he read some where,Ira keep doing your thing it is clear who certain people on here are friends with and they are really trying to sway everyones opinion,but its like they say you know you are doing something right when when everyone tries to make you wrong,i saw your place and i have purchased fish from you that even my local pet shop were amazed with because they couldnt even get them,i agree with ira this backstabbing stuff is for kids,i am a grown @@s man and will leave the kiddy stuff for the kids. that is all and i hope everyone enjoys their thanksgiving
No one is questioning whether a particular seller is a nice guy, has good quality fish, or sells them at a fair price. The question is: Are the fish wild?
If they are wild an legally obtained, I want some. If they are not, I don't.
Keep in mind this example. You cannot deny that it is strange that there seems to be a nearly unlimited supply of wild 'Rio Heredia' dovii floating around right now. I have some of those fish myself. I'd like to know if, indeed, they are wild. All I do know is they are a yellower strain than normal, aren't as beautiful as Nicaraguan strains, and ultimately all seem to come from the same supplier. Did that supplier actually spend the money to go himself to Costa Rica or did he hire an exporter to collect a large supply of fish that is a common as any other already in the hobby? The economics don't seem to match up.
The question can only be answered by the original supplier, not the final seller. But at least one of the parties has to convince me for my order to be placed.

if you know they all come from the same supplier,contact the supplier,simple as that then we will all know and no one needs to dispute it any more,if i knew the supplier thats what i would do,not to many of us on here are importers so we are not experts we can only go by what we hear or read,if you dont believe they are wild dont buy any,if you believe the seller and trust him not to sell any thing but what he says they are the by all means by the fish you like,i dont know why you guys chose to bash this one person on here about his fish(unless what he says is true about this little crew on here trying to discredit someone,which is what it looks like)i just read over a dozen posts with wild fish in them and not any of you disputed if they where real or not so why target one person,seems mighty strange after a few people got a phone call from one particular vendor now its oll of a sudden anyone with wild fish not from him is a liar. just seems strange to me.(just my observation from reading this and other post about wild fish)
Hey buddha, I noticed in your post something about a vendor making phone call in an effort to discredit another vendor. I didn't know what you were talking about, but I read through the thread again and saw what you were referring to. If that kind of crap is happening that vendor needs to GO! I think we can all agree on that!

Man, this thread has gone waaayyy off topic. Here's my thoughts on the whole thing. This man put up pictures of his fish that he is very proud, and happy to own. If you have something nice to say about his fish, then by no means leave a comment. Otherwise, if you are interested in trying to get fish from this location, and not trying to discredit anyone, then those questions I feel should be directed to Ira in private. There really is no need for 104 post mainly about whether or not his fish are wild. I for one, like many others trust Ira, and am more than happy with the service and fish he provides. And like jgenty said earlier, if you find that you don't trust him, then you can just move on and spend your money somewhere else. There is no need for a lot of the disrespectful comments that have been thrown around. Just my .02
Also regarding this one vendor trying to discredit the other, this is really uncalled for. The way I see it, if you are in this business for the love of the hobby, there shouldn't be any kind of conflict with another vendor because of what he is selling. I have seen ken, and a couple other vendors, on a regular basis give compliments, and good comments on fish that people have gotten from other vendors.
