No one is questioning if you can get them across. Maybe dogofwar wants some wild dempsey's himself? Or maybe other cichlids from the same area? Would kind of need to know whose collecting to ask them aye?

That's what's great about some of these collecting trips that have taken place in the last few years. Lots of photos, and lots of documentation of the collecting effort is a big plus.
It would seem appropriate that the burden of proof is on the seller rather than the buyer...... Just saying....
Another good point cchhcc, though I wasn't really suggesting that the collecting trip was anything but legit. It's just that the area where these would have been collected hasn't been in decades becuase of the drug plantations in the area. There are a lot of cool cichlids besides the wild jd's that people would be interested in ... hence having to know who is collecting to ask what's available, ect ect.

so what there from a credible source period, nowadays thats what you have to go with is salesman credibility, if you didnt collect them yourself and thats just what it is, and these are wild dempsey's, I dont need a special name or a famous name in the hobby to accuire wild fish homie, its basicly (money+the know how + networking= F0) use that formula and i garuntee you wont need a fanclub to approve your wild fish brodarth pike;3641223; said:Who has them isn't who collected them, even according to you.
Talk about not listening?? Wow. We aren't suggesting you can't bring them back, at least I'm not. And JoeFatFish is collecting in a totally differant area. Yes, the area around southeast mexico is hard to collect becuase of the dangers. I'm not saying it can't be done either though. Some of us would like to know who's going down to ask about the rare cichlids in the area. If a person is able to slip past the dangers and collect, then perfect!! Perhaps we can see a bunch of cichlids that aren't seen in the hobby currently.
