sorry to post so many comments. but, ive looked around the web and seen adult Pearsei's with different coloration. some are gold/brown. some have blue/green hue's to them and some are yellow above their dark blotch at the bottom. are there different regional variations of C.Pearsei?

Might in part have something to do with the light. I once bought a wild pair from Eddie and they got shipped to Ken's house. When I went to pick them up, Ken held them under the sun and commented on the green hue, but it became less obvious after I put them in the tank. Very cool fish - one of my favorites.

yes. i totally agree that they are cool fish. ive waited months to get mine and joyous that mine are quickly acclamitising to life in captivity.
soo peaceful and mellow for a fish of that size. mine changes goldy/yellow when it knows im about to feed it and in the morning when its cruising around the tank. And also noticed that in the morning when natural sunlight hits it, that there are signs of greens and blues developing. very subtle. yet, so nice.
