I just really got back into the hobby about 2 months ago since 2006. So far, its only the beanis and umbees that I own...trying to catch up to the big dawgs like yourself

But yea..my brother owns some cichlids so I was able to check out his setups from time to time and help him out whenever I came and visited him.

Umbee, Beani, Cuban, Grammodes, Istlanum - Great choices in cichlids.

Very nice fish and pics! Too early to tell if it's a male or female. If you see any black in the dorsal or pelvic fins it's a dead giveaway...female. If it turns out to be a girl, don't worry I have a bunch left from my male I can give you and there are many potential males in the tank! As far as it being F1, you can only believe what your told but F0 Umbees are not easy to come by. That Beani is awesome and I know he came from a reliable source! He looks alot different from the group I have, blows them away!

More pics of the male beani including pics of the female who extremely HATES the male. She watches my male's every move next to the divider. Every time she watches the male she completely turns gold and gains black stripes...looks awesome. Again, sorry for the water marks on the pics!

No luck with breeding them just yet as the male just completely pounds on the female relentlessly when not separated. Just like today...I came home to find my male knocked down the divider and beat the crap out of my female She's a tough one...I'm treating her now for her injuries
