^ is MTS Malaysian Trumpet Snails?

If that is the case, there shells maybe a bit hard for a puffer and could cause them to chip their teeth if i remember correctly?

IMO, best bet is ramshorn snails with their softer shells + they are easy to breed... but wait for PP or another member to see what they have to say...

MTS = malaysian trumpets. and yes this is what I heard. But wasn't sure if it was true or not? I'll eer on the side of caution until I can get a diffinitive. I may pick-up some ramshorn from work and see about setting up a tank for them to breed in. Good use of my out-grown 10 gallons laying around!

They are absolutely not & have been known to crack puffer's teeth.

Thanks! Then no MTS' go near his tank. so ramshorn, and those small round ones that breed like mice are okay?

Good feeding/snail breeding articles here; http://www.**************.com/forum/library/category/feeding/

Well went to turn off the lights tonight.. and he came right up to the glass so I was happy.. until I saw the tell-tail white spots of Ick.. literally on his tail. I've delt with velvet more then I care to remember but this is the first time I've delt with Ick in awhile... can I use Prazi-pro and kill 2 birds with 1 stone? as I intended to worm him anyways? or is that just too good to be true? I already posted a Q in the diseases section. But some imput from other puffer keepers would be helpful. So far it's only 3 spots.. but no doubt.. it's Ick.

Already beat you to that link PP.. Thanks though. Just wondering if prazi was a viable option. really don't want to have to strip the tank out of plants and gravel ect to salt it down unless it's absolutely neccisary. and did abit more digging.. strip the plants out and salt and temp it is.. gonna bump the temp to 82 while I get some sleep here. and see if the salt is needed.

Temp must be closer to 86. 1 tbsp/10g of salt shouldn't hurt your plants. Use Melafix too.

picking up salt today at work, and bumping the temp up to 86 until then. plus side the spots are gone now.. not sure if caught it early and the temp did the job.. or if the ick are just in the water part of their life cycle.. either way i'm filling up a bucket to do a 50% WC.
