when a fahaka dies will it kill everything in the tank (that is, if you can get anything to live with it)? They’re poisonous, right?

I think they would only die if they ate the one organ that puffers contain is poisonous. If they ate his skin and stuff they should be fine. It is just the organ that is poisonous. Sorry can't remeber which one it is.

hmm... I have heard that SW puffers fowl the water and wipe out the entire tank if they are not taken out immediately. i was wondering if the fahaka would do that if it died when the owner was at work

well its like what honda said, as long as his poisonous organ was not touched or made in contact with the water is fine. but if a fish comes by and decides to try to eat it and punctures the slightest hole on the poisonous organ..well, consider the other fishes dead..good luck..i hope ur fahaka didnt die on u

I wouldn't worry, SW boxfish are the one that release toxins int the water. I have yet to see a nile puffer kill fish by dying.
