How long are those cats and how long did it take to get them that size?

Got the at about a foot each. Prolly had them 6-8 months. Lighter ones only put on a few inches but the darker ones probobly grown 5-6 inches since arrival. I'd highly recommend these gentle giants to anyone that has rays, I don't think there's a catfish out there that compliments them better. :)

Thanks for the compliments Bruce and Shawn. Hopefully those 2 lady monsters continue to play nice with the Marbles otherwise they will need to be rehomed. They are very aggressive.

Theres some real quality Marbles there DB,i love those black pebbles and white sand, really shows them off.

After 3+ years of hunting you're bound to come across a few lookers. ;)

A lot of my rays aren't new to the hobby, but rather obtained from other hobbyists from this site. Provide good homes for them and the people that have them tend to find you when the time comes to rehome them. Well over half of my rays were passed down to me by other hobbyists. . I MUCH prefer this then having to buy wild caught. Wild caught Marbles are NOT fun at all when you have established rays, they don't mix well and mortality rate is sickening. In fact I think I only have 5 surviving WC rays. Probobly lost more then have lived.

The Irwinis are supposed to be a pair. Came from the Omalley collection. Amazing how much food they steal right out from under the rays.

Thank you.

4th pic down in the 2nd batch of pics are the 2 I suspect are prego. Both were very light colored up to 12-13 inches then darkened up. The one on the left is Spotfin's old female. You can see how light she was in his avatar. The pic below that are all the Marble ladies in the pond. Of those 4 2 are proven breeders (the light colored beauty from JimR and Spotfin's old lady). The smaller of the 4 is a CB from Brad (Stingrayguy). She was one of the prettier Marbles I've seen up till 8 inches. May not be a looker now, but definetly has the genes to throw amazing pups. She'll be 2 next month so it shouldn't be long before she's a mom. The Jag and "Mantilla" are also both female. Should just be a matter of time now that water quality issue has been dealt with.

She is dark. She looks good though. Wonder if she would lighten on a light background/substrate? I always kept her on light sand (see avatar). Hope she is pregnant for you.

I guess you are:D
I agree that if people see you can provide a very good home for them then they will actually come looking for you. Thats whats great about people on here, the vast majority of people would place the value of a good home far beyond that of financial gain.
I have never been unlucky enough to have a wild caught MM but im sure they are very difficult. My flower ray wasnt easy to get settled after its move and it is what you would class as a LTC.
I didnt realise the Megalodoras were two different ones!!! A pair at that size is just about my ultimate! They are far and away my favourite catfish (tigrinus seccond) they just look incredible.
That really is a special collection:popcorn:

:)

Great collection of marbles Al. For sure the best collection I've seen posted. Glad to see some are starting to pay you back with some pups. I've allways wanted some cats with my rays but have been paranoid of cats and newborn pups together. Have you had any problems with this before?

Sebarau and Aquaman45 thank you for the compliments. I can only hope to someday be able to produce quality pups like I've seen you both associated with. The bar for quality Marbles seems to be rediculously high over there compared to here.....

Jason, she is dark. She darkened up in Jim's possesion. I know my pond doesn't help though. Very dark and very little light. Believe me I watched all the rays darken up significantly when I removed all the sand from it. Opted for ease of keeping clean, as it proved very difficult to keep a pond clean since there is very little vacuum when siphoning. Without sand everything seems to end up in the filter. It will be a very interesting experiment to see if they all color up someday when I'm able to provide them with ample light and light substrate again.

Shawn, very hard for me to tell the size of her. If I had to guess I'd say 14-15. I was kinda curious myself so I just chucked a hippy golf disc in the pond and snapped some pics for size refrence. Disc is 8.25 across. The bigger light colored Marble in the pics was sold to me as 16 and seems to be very close to that. The Jag is pretty close to her. She was only 7 or so when I got her last Thanksgiving. Her appetite keeps growing as does her aggression at feeding times. Won't be long before she knocks "Darkness" off as ruler of the pond.

Scott, I can't really speculate on the Irwinis with pups as I've never had them together, however I believe with thier mellow disposition and small mouths I don't see why they would be any harm to small rays. I'd definetly give them a try, I think they are perfect tankmates for rays.
