If the marketplace is being addressed, could we get some clarification on allowed/not allowed animals? Things like the LACEY act have had changes made in the years since some of the rules were written.

That was a labor of love by Oddball some years ago. When people pop up to tell me about corrections with supporting data, I happily amend it, but I don't have the time to research all of that. I agree that would be a useful thing, and if people want to bounce information my way, I'll definitely update it.

Agreed.That was a change that I didn't see a point in making.

Agreed. I'm not sure why that decision was made, but I intend to try to do something to mitigate it. That may be beyond my ability, so unfortunately I can't make a promise about that.

I beg to differ. I kind of prefer it the way it is because many of us don’t mind paying for shipping to get the fish we want. If you split the marketplace in regions, it’ll make it more of a chore for those of us that don’t mind shipping fish or getting them shipped to us. My 2 cents...

The intent is not to split it up, but to provide a way for people to sort the ads by region.

While on the subject of the Marketplace, is it possible for the Mods to revise the Marketplace into regions like it was before? It's less time consuming to just click on "North East" and search the items listed there. Even though the location is supposed to be in the title heading, there many places that share the same name. I see "Norwalk" or "Orange" don't know if it's Cali or Connecticut. There are multiple places that share the same name so bringing back "regions" will make it easier than reading an entire thread to only find out it's 3000 miles away.

I second this motion. For those of us on the hunt for giant rays, and subsequent giant tanks, distance is a crucial consideration. This is MONSTER fish keepers, right? It would be beneficial to stay within that niche. If I wanted fish shipped to me, I would just use google.

I like that. I felt that when we did have the region set up, I felt that it wasn’t being used. Most concerns I heard was due to not enough traffic in the region area. This would help with that providing everyone understands and follows it.

separating by regions in my opinion will make the marketplace even more slow and less activities. just make sure people put pick up or shipping and their location along with zip codes in the title. in my opinion this site needs more activities like the good old days. it used to have a lot of traffic and my fav site. not just the marketplace to check out what people are selling. but i enjoyed the lounge and there would be lots of new post everyday. now....not so much.

How would it make it less active? It would be the same amount of people buying and selling, but it would just make it a lot less time consuming for those looking to buy. I know I personally don't care to waste so much time wading through all the posts that are on the other side of the country from me.

when we had region section before it was pretty slow. maybe thats why they took it out? i dont know. even when we had it. people still post on the regular market place. reason, cuz i think the regular market forum had more traffic so people rather go there. even tho its the same amount of people buying and selling. but its the traffic that attracts people. for the longest time before i didnt even know we had regions. like for example, the vendor section, its pretty slow. you still see people on the regular market forum posting WTB fish that the vendors on here has but they dont even know about so they post on the regular marketplace. but this site had died down a lot now in general as far as activities.
