I see the opposite with the like function,it replaces rather than accompanies comments.
I think the like replaces some one-line comments, the like is simply for if you find something funny or cool. In most cases I'll only leave a comment if I actually have something to say, the like doesn't replace that.

I had no idea that Facebook was already testing the waters of a Dislike button. Never having a Facebook account, I honestly had no idea, lol

“People have told us they would like to see better public discussions on Facebook, and want spaces where people with different opinions can have more constructive dialogue,” Facebook said in a statement.

Since the dawn of the Facebook Like button, users have been begging for a “dislike” button.

Im not into facebook but id imagine a dont like button would hurt people's feelings and cause mass hysteria along with a shortage of safe places i dont see it happening lmao

Good one, Frank. Well it certainly won't happen on Facebook, where so much money is at stake. But here? Hmmmmm.

Neil did you read the comments in that article. Sheeesh yup definitely not enough safe spaces.

I have no problems with a like button. I definitely like the idea of a dislike button too. I like the idea of showing appreciation or dislike for something without having to get into a drawn out convo on a trivial post. Say a pic of a nice healthy fish. Hitting like is way easier than constantly saying nice pic.

2.1 stable hasn't been released yet, it's still in beta, but I think most add-ons for 2.0 should work for 2.1, just add-ons for XF1 won't work with XF2.
