My wife is pretty understanding.. she knows that this is not a hobby that you can just shake off... and she says along as the tank looks nice when its done their isnt a problem with her.. as long as our finances are in order she doesnt see a problem with it.. she likes fish as well she currently has a nice red sea nano tank with marine fish.. i brought this up to her many times and she seems excited, and now shes talking about a 1000g reef tank : ) she realluy is the best

MFKmember: What do you feed your fish?

Cepo: pbass, freshwater rays, and adult aros, kittens, homeless people....

MFKmember: oh... :(

Don't forget the chainsaw for your diftwood. Have you thought about planting it? WHy not? Might as well.... Planting would encourage spawns too. You'd have to install some serious plumbing, keep that water flowing. Invest in the concentrated powder form of amquel cause the isht that comes in the bottle aint gonna do it...not for a reasonable price anyway.

Dude if you do this, your gonna get a pair. No doubt about it. As expensive as it sounds, if you get multiple breeding pairs of pirayas you'll make all your money back. Tank raised piraya? Get the hell outta here!

well if this gets under way cepon you will be investing a lot of time in this project. Since you wont have that much time with your other fish, you might as well just pass the brandtii on down to me.

thanks in advance!!

I didnt even realize I already offered my services earlier in the thread...

shows how much I want him and how good of care he will be given!!

diogense: you would also need some serious lights in that tank for the plants to grow.

as for lighing goes few skylight or put the tank in a heated greenhouse if will take care of that. can't get any thing better than sunlight. only use additional lighting at night when you want to view the tank. that would save lots of money on electricity, which means more expensive feeders :)
