i dont know about u but i dont have money to spend on a pump all i did was attach a bigger hose to my syphon and well (more area = more water flow) i can empty my 150gal in about 5 mins with the big hose attached compaired to 10 or 15 with the one that comes with it

i cant really attach a bigger hose to a small ended siphon. but the powerhead is only like 20, so well see.

Use 2 garden hose out the window..pvc ends in the tank, cut to the level of water you want to remove..super cheap and works like a champ.
With the right fittings(PVC) fast set up time, you don`t have to watch the draining..heck, you don`t even need to glue the fittings.

I've used a single hose with a y adapter right at the tank! It seemed to work very well and quickly. I just attached the y adapter to my siphon from my python and then 2 garden hoses to the other end and my 54 gallon drained in about 3 minutes.
