Fastest feeder to breed????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes two tilapia can survive in a 40 gallon. People use tilapia in aquaponics because theyre pretty hardy. I would recommend taking the frys out in a week or so to let the parents start breeding again....if you have two pairs... you can probably have endless counts of tilapia....

Well, endless counts depending on how much fishes you have to feed... for me.. my peacock bass can kill about 10-15 2 inchers every feed...

Its cheaper to buy Tilapia. The cost, work, and mess to keep a medium spawn is big! Even with my 500 gal vat Im water changing every day. I have bought and its less

Try the red wrigglers. I used to keep a culture for a tire track eel that refused to wean from live foods. Endless supply of live food after a month or 2.

You can compost most veggies. Stay away from potato skins (they grow) and anything citrus.

Make sure you throw in some ground up egg shells to counter the acidity, and install a drain for the liquid "worm tea". You'll need to drain it or the culture will go bad. Upside is that it makes awesome house plant fertilizer.

I'm am currently looking to set up a 38 gallon feeder tank and I was originally going to breed convicts but its come to my attention that they take longer to harvest..................................know which type of fish will give me the highest yield the fastest.

Split the 38 gallon into two, maybe three parts, using plastic dividers..........Put a pair ineach divider........I gaurantee, from experience, that Convict cichlids will breed within two weeks..........The spawn usually comes out to 80-200........So have an extra 55-60g tank ready to dump these fry into, so that your pairs keep breeding..........

Borchbuild what website are you buying it from?
