Fastest growing fish to keep are...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Most any fish will grow quick with low nitrates NO ammonia/nitrite a healthy varied diet and enough space! And of course stable temp and ph!

My red belly piranhas grew fast, faster then any other tropical fish. 5-6.5" in 1 year and going strong!

Just keep water fresh; 2x 20-30% wc/week given bio load

Fastest silver aro growth Ive seen here on MFK was 3-4" to 24" in 10 months. Posted by sbuse. I think Crispy also had a silver with grow similar to this.

Every catfish type I have owned ate like pigs and grew super fast because of that.

I'll go with my gator gar and silver arro I got in april this year... gar went from 4"- 20", arro 4"-18" in about 9 months. And the gator gar doesn't even get that much food, since he has much quicker eating predators in his tank.... whoever mentioned the water quality in this thread is right on target though.... makes a bigger difference then even the amount of food, in my opinion

in my experience, the arapaima..
we had fish ponds in my homeland and tge secret to sudden growth is to keep the fishes (milkfish) in a small area.. and kind of stunt them for a while. then suddenly move them into a very wide area..
dis the trick to my paima and boom, from a juvy to a 3.5 feet monster in a year.

photo was taken when the care taker was doing a 90% wc.
