Sure it has been asked before but what do you think is the fastest growing fish. Nothing specific just an opinion I recently got 3 synspilums and was told they grow rather slow but they have easily grown a half inch in about a month there in a 29 with 10 gallon water change once a weekend feeding on blood worms and pellets

Seems a lot of the large catfish species like red tails grow almost daily.

yeah RTCxTSN and RTC's will grow 1-3 inches per month. TSN's are also over an inch a month. My RTCxTSN has gone from approximately 2.5" to 11" in 3.5 months. My TSN has gone from 1.5" to 6" in 2.5 months. And my RTC went from 2.5" to 8" in 2 months before I gave him away because he was too aggressive. I do think my guys grow slightly faster than normal though, probably because they're an understocked tank that get 25% water changes 2-3 times a week

My armatus grew faster than any other fish that I have ever had. It's quite impressive when a tiny fish is brought home and it very soon grows big enough to eat everything else

Arapaima grow to 12-14 kg (about 30 lbs) in one year. I've heard Mahi mahi grow extremely fast as well!

I've heard red tail cats, if given proper space and feeding, can go from about 2" to 12" within the first month. Then, they go from 12" to 24" within another month to month and a half. So, could go from 2" to 24" in two months. Then, can reach 3-4' in captivity, but up to 5' in the wild.

Not kidding my vieja are the fastest fish so far I've own. They eat like mad and grow so fast. From 1-2" to 4-5" in two months. I have them with rays and they even eat tilapia might be the reason why they getting so big lol
