hello here I am again with another question.

actually I'm not sure if my two Albino Senegals are already juvis. I saw in one website that they're considered as juvis when they're 10cm but mine is still around 7.5cm.

anyway I heard that fasting them sometimes will be good to them. but I also heard that it is during this time until 7" that their growth is fastest and they're always hungry. so should I fast them once a week? or not at all until they're 7"?

I personally feed them every day until past the 7inch mark but my group are adults so I skip a day when they eat tilapia. Tbh 1 skipped day will not hurt, I feed aquarium with my larger polypterus every 2 days.

thanks guys. how many times a day did you feed them before they became 7-8"?

i feed mine once a day. is that alright?

i guess i'll just have to be careful not to overfeed them

great question Stalker_Loneriff Stalker_Loneriff . I was actually wondering that too. Thank you for asking!

Currently I am feeding every other day, but if you guys say every day is better, I will change it.

I have a bunch of questions now.
What should I be feeding my 5" ornate?

Currently I'm doing pellets and frozen foods(specifically SanFran Freshwater multi pack (brine+spirulina, bloodworms, myesis+lettuces). Is this inadequate? Should I be doing tilapia and pellets instead? Do I need to supplement veggies?

How much(quantity) of food do I feed at a time?

Never fed frozen brine or multi pack but used live BBS for hatchling Senegal polypterus. I personally would offer small or broken pellets of variety vegetable, krill, earthworm, spirulina. Frozen small cut up pieces of tilapia, and shrimp. Live very small earthworm will be fine.

If you use pellets probably 4 to five pellets should do for the day, depending how you cut up the tilapia just don't over feed.
