atbs are not something i'd bother taming lol, they are nice display animals though. 10 000? That is a lot... mustards and a lot of other morphs don't go for that much. Was it a neonate? Was it something special like albino/het or a high blue or something similar. Maybe one of the Waigeo or Kafiau island locales?
Not a neonate, bigger/older than my atb for sure. Not special at all I don't think. It was a beautiful animal, no doubt, but I just kept browsing on after what appeared to be offending the guy by asking about the price.
He had the attitude of something that would be a good display animal. :D :D
and not bother with taming    .

I don't think you'll find me ever paying 5,000 pounds on a green tree. Neonates are between 300-400 now... and then upwards with the morphs. I would have been tempted to ask him why they are priced so high, in the most inoffensive way I could.

I didn't think I was being offensive by simply asking if the price sticker was correct, but apparently he did. :) :irked:
Ah well, I'm happy with the new little guy. Got him out this afternoon with "chicken" gloves and still got bit on the forearm
No real damage,........................ just pooped myself !!!!
Scrappy little turd he is. :D :D :D
I've got the time and patience for him. If he comes around great, if not, well, he's still cool, and that's what makes him......him. I don't need to impress people with him around my neck, most folks we know don't even know about us having them. Most only know us as having the aquariums, the bird, cat, and turtle.
Most folks under stand all that, but freak when you mention snakes. :screwy: :screwy:

You won't find me paying that kind of $$$ either. As much as I'd like to have one, there are plenty of other gorgeous snakes and other critters out there for loads less money. If I made my living as a breeder, It might be a different story, but I don't, so it's not. :) :)

I agree with you... the atb is one ;) There are a few attractive colour morphs of them too.

Yeah, I'm going to start looking into ETB's instead of GTP's and see if there is difference in the cost.
Most folks around here recognize "Green Tree Python" by just the name, but if you say "Emerald Tree Boa", they think it's the same animal.

I think it is the high reds that are more expensive, but there are yellows and banded 2 colours and probably some more since I last looked. They aren't even half the cash of a GTP though. I really like the youngsters on their "halloween phase", but they grow out of it, which I guess is a shame.

Thanks.

Made my own DIY prototype of this http://www.petdiscounters.com/c212/Humidifier-and-Air-Exchanger-p3117.html?PETDISCO=m517a49q0frt68uhdjs63n14i2
Took an unused Hagen CO2 canister, cut a piece of unused AC70 filter foam to fit, drilled a hole in it for the supply line and air stone, filled it 3/4 full of water, connected an air pump to it, pointed the output tube into my ATB's 10g, plugged it in, and watched the humidity rise from 65% to 80% in an hour.
Plugged the thing into the timed power strip so it shuts off when the lights do.
So far, so good.:) :) :) :) :)
If it works well enough, I'll be building bigger versions for the other three snakes, instead of the spray bottle method from now on.

What's wrong with the old spray bottle, once in the morning, maybe a top up in the evening if needed LOL. Misting systems and that do seem pretty cool though-seems complex though to a simpleton like me who'd prefer the little bottle LOL.
