Whats the best food to feed YOYO's to get them to bulk up?

I have 2 YOYO's in my 90 gallon cichlid tank. They do great with my cichlids but haven't been growing much. A buddy of mine has one that was in his guppy tank. Before he realized it his YOYO had beefed up eating guppy fry. That thing is around 6-7 inches now. Mine are only around 4 and are a few months older.

Water changes are 1 x per week in this tank. I am going to feed more frz brine shrimp, frz blood worm, and try the sinking mini cichlid granules I have too. Anything worked especially well for any of you guys/gals? Does this sound like a solid plan?

Thanks

What is the stock list?
You could possible do another wc in the week might help.

I like to feed them bloodworms, they love them and will eat a ton of them. If you have frozen silversides, they like them too.

One thing you could do is to place snails in your canister or sump. The snails will eventually find there way into your tank out of your canister. In the sump you can collect them with some lettuce, scrap and feed.

This way the loaches have a continual supply of food coming to them as the snails multiply. Nonstop food along with lots of water changes will beef your loaches up fat!!!

Mind taking a picture of your friends loach? Sounds monster!!!

Mussels and fish eggs are also excellent.

90 gallon

2 AC 110's HOB
1 AC 50 Powerhead

Fish:
Male GT Gold Saum -6"
Female JD -6"
Male Firemouth Meeki -4"
Bushy nosed Pleco -4"
Gold Nugget Pleco -3"
2 YOYO loaches - 3-4"

w/c 1 x per week 30-40%

Feed 2x per day, a mix of Hikari Gold, Hikari cichlid Staple, Frozed Blood worms, Frozen Krill, Frozen Brine shrimp, Earthworms. I pick one of the various foods and feed it with one kind of pellet. Keep switching it up every day. I don't over feed. They stay more active feeding 2x per day than they do feeding 3x per day.

That is an old pic from last year. Got rid of the "power sweep" power head on the left side - JUNK! don't buy one.

Amazon Swords are now in my 30 gallon too.

Don't have my female Salvini anymore :irked: miss her. She was brilliant yellow

If you want updated pics of the YOYO's or anything else let me know

Live Blackworms, tubifex worms, crushed snails, and chopped clam meat all will fatten up a yoyo very quickly.
