TELL US YOUR FAVORITE CICHLID, WHY IS THAT CICHLID YOUR FAVORITE, anything specific that draws you to this fish , DO YOU OWN it?, SHARE PICS STORIES ETC , i been around jags, dempseys, doviis, saums, texas cichlid, red devils and such and my fav is the jag so far but im only 18 and just upgraded from a 55to a 125 so that can change as my experience grows by years

Im the biggest convict fan alive, they are my favorite cichlid because because of their personality, agression, and how nice they look when hybrid with other cichlids. I have have several convict projects going right now and the best project i have going is HRP x texas cichlid and cant til they grow up.

ill post a pic tommoro, all I can say is your gonna love mine he has alotta color on his fins, always gotta have a convict in the tank it adds a good touch to your cichlid lineup

True Midas cichlids are my favorite. They aren't the biggest or the meanest, but when full grown they are the bodybuilders of cichlids. Like the average sized guy with muscles so big it's almost comical. They take the cake for me. If I had to choose not based upon looks and behavior, but instead based upon personality alone, then it's hard to beat an Oscar.

Festae so far. I am pretty new to this, but I love the colors.
Sorry for the blurry pictures, my little one is shy.

My favorite would have to be the Managua aka Jaguar Cichlid. I use to own one and he was an awesome fish. Lived for 11yrs before finally passing away. Would love to raise a pair but seeing how they get so big I would need to dedicate my 135 gallon to just them and I can't since its a community tank at the moment.

Out of all the cichlids I've owned my favorites have always been Wild Angelfish & Festavum. I now for the first time have all three wild Angelfish species, P. Altum, P. Scalare & P. Leopoldi "The Angelfish Hat Trick". I'm alaso growing out 5 new Mesonauta Festivus. Chocolate Cichlids (Hypselecara temporalis) are also high on my list.

The pictures are from top to bottom P. Altum juvi, P. Saclare, P. Loeopoldi, P. Scalare and two Mesonauta Egregius.

My favorite cichlid would have to be my female festae. She's my favorite bc or the crazy ordeal I had to go through to get her to my apartment. I ordered her and 5 other festae from another MFK member( this was my first online fish purchase too) and that part went perfectly. The hiccup was my mailman never knocked on my door with the package, and just placed a "try again tomorrow" slip in my mailbox on the other side of the complex. I had been up since six that morning sitting by my door for a knock that never came. I went to my mailbox about 1pm and found the note in horror and went straight to the post office. I was then told to" find the mailman myself bc they have no way to locate them".I went home found the main hub number and threw a small fit ( small bc It was the post office and I needed my package). The greatest post office supervisor in the world located my fish with in an hour and had me pick them up a regional hub two blocks from my apartment. When I opened the box all six fish were still kickin and I couldn't have been happier. I grew out "Selene"" from about an 1.5 now she's approaching 7". She's the only survivor from my first batch of six and that's why she's my favorite.
