I like almost all of my cichlids for different reasons...the Kraussi is an absolute pig and will inhale any food item I throw into the tank and I find him very entertaining. Our big Dempsey is our oldest cichlid and rightfully rules the tank with a stern gentleness. The Texas is kinda stupid and a dick to all the smaller fish, pussy with all the ones his size or bigger. He and the Cuban have an evergoing feud over the far corner by the FX5 outlet...the Cuban is awesome! Small but mighty forsure. He is only about 4 1/2-5" long but won't back down from anything in the tank unless the Jag, Kraussi or big JD really press him. I fear he may be a beautiful nightmare when mature lol...the little Dempsey is very brave for it's size as the smallest in the killer tank. Was very pretty but quite washed out now in that tank as it is at the bottom of the food chain. I like it's feisty personality...the Oscar is a non-stop eating machine as well and has alot of personality but is an Oscar nontheless and I've seen and owned a bunch and the novelty has long worn off. He just polices the medium tank with our Madagascar Paratilapia until he gets too big and goes into the killer tank to either survive or die depending on his willingness to take his place on the feeding pecking order behind everything but the little Dempsey.
By far though, my favorite fish is our female Jag. She is so beautiful and has such personality. She definitely recognizes me and even has an affinity for me. Shw will beg me for food, she watches me constantly if I'm in the room and she will always come to visit me if I go up to the glass. She has no fear of any other fish but is not aggressive unless another fish is aggressive towards her or they come too close to whichever spot she has chosen as hers for the timebeing. The only fish she really has an unprovoked aggression towards is the Texas and I don't know why. She has had it's whole face in her mouth on more than one occassion but never really hurts it bad, just gives it a little beating and chases it away. Her and the Kraussi have formed a strange pair and she is constantly badgering him to breed although he has no idea what to do and by what others have said they could not successfully reproduce anyways. I love my fish!

I have a hybrid jagXtexas that happened 5 yrs ago while I had female jag and texas as tankmates.he is nuts, I have a dog chew toy in his tank, sometimes I put glove on and he plays attack, he seems to know its a game

and props to that hybrid once again, whats his personality like, do you have any videos possibly, that's something I would LOVE to see
