I agree w/ the previous comments that senegalus have the best "personalities" of the various bichir species. From an aesthetic standpoint, I like weeksii, retropinnis, palmas buettikoferi, ornatipinnis, and endlicheri the best. In general, I prefer upper jaw bichirs, but endies are just too cool not to mention.

I have 10 bichirs total. My favorite are guinea based p. endlicheri. I like these because they tend to have darker patterns. Ornates are in a close second.

my fav so far is endlicheri endlicheri, but i keep other bichirs too, they have different personalities its nice to observe them especially when its feeding time

i had a senegal and he was really neat. loved watchin him eat feeders but i had to sell him before i moved. now im looking for an ornate. just to cool looking to not have one.
