This is more of an interesting, random story than a funny one, but I went in to work today to see what hours I'm getting while I'm off school for Spring Break (yep, SB in February). I was talking to the manager about my hours and he asked if I'd heard of this guy Shawn McDonald who's a Christian folk singer. I told him I had, and he told me that the guy had started coming into the store and was telling me about the tank he had. I thought he was just making up some story (even though it would probably be the most random made-up story I'd ever heard). Not two minutes after he mentioned it, the door opened and in walked a guy and he introduced me to him as Shawn McDonald. Even after meeting him, I was still a little skeptical, but I checked it out when I got home and it was really him. So, I met somewhat of a minor celebrity at work today. That's my random customer story

i managed to turn a customer who was a fellow 5g keeper away from the gibbiceps to the ottocinclus
although this didnt happen to me personally, i thought i would share...
today one of my coworkers spent bout 45 mins trying to explain to a elderly women that it wasnt a good idea to keep neons with jack dempseys and convicts and that none of those fish can be kept in a "cup", after awhile the women called her son and handed the phone to my coworker, low and behold, her son only speaks spanish after awhile my coworker gave up and sold her and african

Had a customer the other day who annoyed me......
Here i am with my earphones in listening to the Nevermind album by Nirvana whilst doing some tank maintainence and a customer tugged my arm and needed some help. They saw a few 4-5" Synodontis eurptus that we have in a 6x2x2 tank which are selling off cheap as we have an abunance of em.
So i ask how big his tank is and he says 4x2x2 which is fine. I explain that they cant live with any small fish say around 1" in length as they become food.
His missus says that they have nothing around that size, except for some Guppies, i said that it could potentually eat them, or at least rag or ripp their tails. I said i would leave it not worth the risk......
They said how much? I said £4.95 each. He said oh for that money ill take the risk. Then i said if it goes wrong theres not come backs i advised you to leave it. They said we know better. Im like well ivge kept 7-8 different species of synodontis have a good knowledge on cats.
So i bagged it em up and just served them.
I hate customers who wont heed advice :S

Your a "pet technition" if a shody store like petco can say that why can you say that. That might make them think other wise
was at an lfs with Gene0514 and just for the heck of it we asked about the Oscars. lady says 5.5g to 10g and you HAVE to feed it fish. we told her 14'', and she was like 
she asked us about the Pacu, and i told her 32''.
we told her she shouldnt sell them and she says an i quote
"People just come in and say this that and the other thing and we dont stop them."
i said well the fish will die, and she goes "Theres nothing i can do." i said "well you should tell people..."
long story short, she refused.
the kicker, there was a RUBBER MORAY EEL IN THE FEEDER TANK
