Had a costumer come inn a few weeks ago, looking for a new filter for her fishbowl.
She had talked to my boss the day before, where she had been shown the perfect one for her bowl.
Ive worked at that store since it opened, and we¨ve never sold filters for fishbowls, because we dont sell fishbowls. Well, my boss apparently had shown her the perfect filter. Im a tad confused so i politely ask her to show me which one she means.
She picks up this tiny machine to run air diffusers with. And she was told that she just put the lil machine into her bowl and it will clean her water.
So i try to explain to her that you cant put that machine in the water, it will electroshock your fish. She of course gets mad, and starts telling me with a very loud voice that my boss, that knows better than me, had shown her this and that it can be used in a bowl and it will clean her water.
I try again to explain what this machine does, i show her the instructions, i show her the lil drawings that shows clearly that you dont put this into water, but no, she is right, my boss is right, i am a 100% wrong.
One last time i try to explain, and i offer to order her a filter made for fishbowls. So atleast i knew i tried. But no, she wanted this one and i finally said fine...but please dont come to me when the fish dies...because they will.
She just grunts, buy the item and leaves.
Few hours later, its closing time and im counting up the money in the cashregister. The phone rings.
Oh yes.....its her.
-The filter doesnt work! It killed all my fish!!!
-Yes, i know...i told you it would.
And i hung up, couldnt stand that woman anymore.
Havent seen or heard from her since..think she avoids the days im at work.
And as a sidenote to the story. My boss really had recommended the air diffuser machine. I still cant understand why...

im in a store with little little (penny sized) rbps. some woman walks up to the tank (clearly labeled) and went look at these tetras, theyll look nice in our 10gal with the tetras. she called the guy over and asked for 5!!! when he told her they were rbps and that they would not only kill all her other fish but need a tank upwards of 100gal she screamed at him and told him she once worked in a petstore and knows that theyre tetras. he refused to sell so she stormed out

not the best but heres mine.
I went to petsmart looking for a tank for my gars. they had a 150 with a short but deep and tall footprint. not perfect but it would do. so i talk to the guy and he works with me alot. i tell him if i can get the stand and tank for under 600 bucks i would take it. added up it came to 615 dollars. he says " let me go talk to my boss, she will give discounts on large tanks if we talk to her." note my buddy had just bought a 56g and she gave him a employee discount(15% i think) on his set up which was only 400 before the discount. he goes and talks to her and she said no on the discount, they would sell it any day, its the time people buy big tanks.. in fact she said if i wanted to buy it, it would have to be the full set up they had there. A $900 set up!!!!. i said no thanks. I ended up buying a 125g for 250 bucks. This was on black friday. it had been there for 2 months prior. I was just there yesterday. its still there
idiot manager, had a deal and lost it.

this sunday I walked into Alternative Aquariums and saw a guy talking about "his Red tail shark that picked on the other, its a big 25 gallon, don't understand why..."
Everytime someone inquires about goldfish, I inform them that the Pope has issued an edict in Rome against keeping goldfish in bowls, as it is too cruel.
I would imagine, in America, our heavily Protestant population would try to keep better care of a goldfish, lest the Pope prove them a fool.
I disapprove even of keeping Bettas without filters.
